Lion Invite

LION INVITATIONAL:
No doubt about it, Saturday was hot. A little too hot for great times on the track, but it was apparently perfect for the field events. Jenn Lee PB'd in the shot and the Javelin and made it back to the finals for the Javelin. Michelle Dwulett also PB'd in the Javelin breaking 90' for the first time. In the discus Emily Hennessy threw her best throw yet almost making the 90' mark, and Niyati Patel broke into the 80' range for the first time. In the triple jump Lisa Yan made it into the finals with a 32' 6.5" jump, a huge PB for her and almost a medal. Finally in the Long Jump, Paula Lobaccaro placed 4th with a jump of 16'6.25", a season best and with in less than an inch of her personal best.
Even with the heat there were a few strong performances on the track. Emily Hennesy raced her way into 6th place in the final of the 100m, and finished the day with a 27.0 in the 200m. Dorrie Lee ignored the heat and ran a PB in the 400 ih, breaking 70 for the first time this year, and another PB in the 100 hh. Julianne Kodack and Rachel Williams both managed to get past the heat as well and ran strong 400's, each running their best open 400 times.
Queen Hornet of the meet goes to Paula for her return to the land of 16' and our top finish of the meet.
Great job to all of you who suffered through the heat and stayed for a long day without much complaining.
