The Big Show

Today is State Sectionals. Only the top 6 finishes from each section will advance to the State Group Meet next weekend. A lot of the girls going have a shot - the question is will they come ready to race. I know that they are all ready to run thanks to Coach McCaff and Coach Bell, but are they ready to race? Are they ready to forget about times, and who is better than who, and all the other distractions? Are they ready to just step on the track and try to beat, no not just beat - embarrass, every other person on the track? That is the mentality you need. When the players step on the basketball court or soccer field do you think they say, "This team is so much better than us, so I'm not going to try to win. I'll just run around behind them and watch them score." I don't think so! The day is yours to get ready. I am hoping when we step on the bus at 4:00PM that I see a whole lot of people with very serious faces. I'll know right away who came ready to race. Make yourself one of them.
